Saito Rainbow Park
Saito Nanairo Park is a park that opened in 2015. Covering about 2.6 hectares—roughly the size of two Koshien Stadium baseball fields—it was created with ideas contributed by children of the neighboring combined elementary-and-junior-high school, Minoh Municipal Saito no Oka Gakuen, so it is packed with kid-friendly features. It is the only park in the Kansai region where you can enjoy two free-fall slides measuring 3.5 m and 5.5 m in length. With a maximum slope of 80 degrees, the near-vertical slides feel less like sliding and more like falling. Besides the free-fall slides, you can also enjoy colorful play equipment such as a climbing wall. A popular feature is the city-run dog run, which is free to use. Because the park sits on high ground, it also has an observation plaza with a 180-degree view, where you can see central Osaka landmarks like Abeno Harukas and even Kyoto Prefecture in the distance. It is also known as a night-view spot, but note that you must leave completely by 19:00. There are no vending machines or shops, so you might pick up takeout at the well-known cheesecake shop Rikuro Ojisan no Mise (Saito no Mori branch) near Osaka Monorail Saito-nishi Station and eat it in the park.
