TonboRiver Walk
Tombori Riverwalk is located about a 10-minute walk from Osaka Metro Namba Station. As part of a project to revitalize Osaka as the “City of Water,” a riverside promenade was developed along the Dotonbori River—also a major tourist destination. Currently, about 600 m between Ebisu Bridge and the Nipponbashi/Minatomachi area has been improved, creating a pleasant spot for strolling along the water. Along the route are eye-catching landmarks such as the Don Quijote Dotonbori store with its large Ferris wheel and the famous Glico sign. Since 2019, “Dotonbori Art” wall art has also appeared, creating many photo-worthy points. Many restaurants are accessible directly from the promenade, letting you dine while viewing the river. Events are held regularly, and the area becomes especially lively on holidays. From the nearby pier, the Tombori River Cruise also departs, traveling from Nipponbashi to Ukiwa Bridge in about 20 minutes.
