ABENO HARUKAS Art Museum
Abeno Harukas Art Museum is a city-type art museum focused mainly on special exhibitions, located on the 16th floor of Abeno Harukas and opened in 2014. The museum is equipped to exhibit National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties and hosts exhibitions across a wide range of genres including Asian art, Western art, and contemporary art. Under the concept “Where art and people meet,” its logo is designed so that the “A” (from ABENO and ART) and the “H” (from HARUKASU and HUMAN) appear to lean toward each other. Because it is located within Abeno Harukas—a mixed-use skyscraper containing a department store, offices, and a hotel—people with diverse lifestyles and sensibilities can easily drop in and enjoy art and culture. Abeno Harukas opened in 2014 as Osaka’s new landmark, standing about 300 meters tall. Built at a total project cost of roughly 130 billion yen, the building won a Good Design Award in 2017. To accommodate visitors stopping by after work, the museum stays open until 20:00 from Tuesday through Friday.
