PL Art of Fireworks
The PL Fireworks Art (Kyososai PL Fireworks Art) is a fireworks festival held every year on August 1 at the Hikarigaoka Country Club by the Perfect Liberty (PL) religious organization, whose headquarters are in Tondabayashi City. The event began as a festival honoring the virtues of the first and second heads of the PL organization. Because it is basically a ceremony for members, only members are allowed to view the fireworks from the venue. The tradition is long-running: the PL fireworks have been held annually since 1953. Around 10,000 fireworks light up the night sky each year, and the finale in particular is overwhelming. The show features dramatic productions such as large-scale shells and massive starmines launched simultaneously from multiple locations, and it is praised every year for its spectacle. It is highly popular within Osaka Prefecture, drawing roughly 30,000 to 40,000 people who come to see the fireworks. The nearest station to the venue is Kintetsu Tondabayashi Station, about a 15-minute walk away. While the event is not open to the general public, the fireworks can still be enjoyed from Tondabayashi City and nearby municipalities.
