Sennan Satoumi Park

Sennan Satoumi Park is a coastal park stretching about 2 km east–west across the area from Hakotsukuri in Hannan City to Tannowa in Misaki Town, Osaka Prefecture. It borders Hannan City’s “Pichipichi Beach” and Misaki Town’s “Tokimeki Beach,” and is bustling during the swimming season. The term “satoumi,” from which the park takes its name, expresses a close relationship between people and the sea. Designed to make use of the natural environment, the park features grassy areas shaded by trees and seasonal flowers, making it an excellent place for environmental learning. Since April 2017, facilities such as “Satoumi Isohama” and the “Shiosai Learning Center (Shiosai Rakushūkan)” have opened. At Satoumi Isohama, a rare crab called the Hakusen Shiomaneki, which can only be seen in rocky shore environments, has been confirmed to inhabit the area. The Shiosai Learning Center hosts nature observation events. In addition, the beach volleyball courts include spectator seating for about 3,000 people, and tournaments are held not only for beach volleyball but also for beach soccer and beach tennis.
