Kyūhōji Green Space
Kyuhoji Ryokuchi Park is one of Osaka’s four major green spaces, alongside Hattori, Tsurumi, and Oizumi Ryokuchi. Located in Yao City, it is about a 15-minute walk from JR Kyuhoji Station or JR Kami Station. The park features a variety of sports facilities such as a baseball field, an athletics track, and a pool, as well as relaxing areas like a large lawn plaza and a flower plaza. There are also colorful playground structures designed for children aged 3–6, as well as larger equipment for a wider age range of roughly 3–12, allowing kids to play freely. A pond in the park is often busy with people fishing, and lotus flowers bloom there in summer. In the Family Plaza, where cherry blossoms bloom, barbecues are also allowed—making it a great place for spring hanami and autumn foliage outings. In early spring, the peony garden (shakuyaku-en) reaches its peak with vibrant peonies in full bloom. The park incorporates universal design and admission is free, so anyone can easily come and relax amid its elegant natural beauty.
