Tenjinmatsuri Fireworks Festival
Tenjin Matsuri Dedication Fireworks are the fireworks that mark the climax of Tenjin Matsuri, launched in time with the Funatogyo boat procession. They are typically held around sunset, from 19:30 to 20:50. The launch areas are around Kawasaki Park and Sakuranomiya Park, and about 4,000–5,000 fireworks are set off and dedicated. Many visitors come specifically for these fireworks. Recommended viewing spots include areas around Sakuranomiya Park Central Plaza, OAP Plaza, and the Imperial Hotel Osaka side when using JR Sakuranomiya Station. Many people also watch from Genpachibashi Bridge. As the time approaches, JR Sakuranomiya Station becomes extremely crowded every year—especially the West Exit—so if you want to reduce congestion, using the East Exit is recommended. Other nearby stations such as JR Temma Station can also be practical depending on your viewing location.
