Osaka Shiki Theater

Osaka Shiki Theatre is the Kansai-region base of Shiki Theatre Company, often considered synonymous with musicals in Japan. It opened in 2005 together with the production *Mamma Mia!* and has since staged many popular works, including Broadway classics such as *Cats* as well as Disney-based titles like *The Lion King* and *The Little Mermaid*. If seats are still available, same-day tickets may be sold at the ticket box. The auditorium has about 1,200 seats and is designed to create a strong sense of unity with the stage. Depending on the show, visitors from overseas may be able to rent subtitle glasses by applying in advance. The theatre is located on the 7th floor of HERBIS PLAZA ENT, a fashion building in the heart of Osaka-Umeda. The building has a refined, high-end atmosphere with many international luxury brand tenants, setting it apart from other fashion buildings in Umeda. Access is excellent—roughly 5 minutes on foot from JR Osaka Station and the various Umeda stations.
