OSAKA ENGLISH VILLAGE

OSAKA ENGLISH VILLAGE is Japan’s first hands-on English education facility designed to make learning fun, located in EXPOCITY in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, and opened in November 2015. Marked by white signage with red and blue ribbons, it recreates American cultural and everyday-life scenes so visitors can take English conversation lessons and feel as if they were studying abroad in the United States. Iconic American spots such as Times Square and the Statue of Liberty are recreated, along with features of the U.S. West Coast and East Coast. The two-story facility conducts lessons in 23 “Situation Rooms” that recreate settings such as an airline, a bank, Hollywood, and a TV station. Classes can be chosen from three levels: A (beginner), B (intermediate), and C (advanced). There are two course types: a STUDENT course for kindergarten through high school students, and an ADULT course for junior high students through working adults. Each situation room has an instructor, and through scenario-based conversation, learners study English vocabulary and expressions.
