Umesan Kouji Street
Umesan Koji is a specialty dining-and-entertainment arcade located about 3 minutes on foot from JR Osaka Station’s Sakurabashi Exit, about 5 minutes from Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line Nishi-Umeda Station (North Exit), and about 5 minutes from Hanshin Railway Umeda Station (West Exit). It opened in 2005 and sits next to the former Osaka Central Post Office building. Inside, it connects to ALBi. By car, you can use the Osaka Station City parking; customers who spend 3,000 yen or more receive a 60-minute free parking voucher. As an arcade-style street, it can be enjoyed regardless of weather. It features 17 specialty shops focused on food: Osaka classics like okonomiyaki and takoyaki, as well as udon, tonkatsu, and more, plus beer restaurants and izakaya-style bars. It is lively with tourists and office workers after hours. Note: it was scheduled to close on January 22, 2021 due to Osaka Station’s new gate development and elevated-track underpass redevelopment works.
