Taiko-en Garden

Taikō-en is a guesthouse that has been cherished in Osaka for over 100 years. The former residence of Baron Fujita—active in the Meiji era—along with its 8,000-tsubo Japanese garden, is a must-see. It has long served as a social venue favored by notable figures, including VIPs from overseas. Beyond its prestigious, traditional wedding ceremonies, its attentive hospitality has also made it a representative international social venue in Japan. Nearby, you’ll find major attractions such as Osaka Castle, the Osaka Aqua-Liner water bus, Osaka Tenmangū Shrine, and the Fujita Museum. Within Taikō-en itself are guesthouse facilities, the Yodogawa-tei ryōtei, teppanyaki dining, and a café—making it satisfying even for visitors coming from afar. Access is excellent: about a 1-minute walk from JR Tōzai Line Osakajō-kitazume Station (Exit 3), about a 7-minute walk from Keihan Kyōbashi Station (Katamachi Exit), and about a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line Kyōbashi Station (Exit 2). By car, there is paid parking at Taikō-en (300 yen per 30 minutes); depending on usage conditions, it may become free.
