Osaka Police Community Plaza
The Osaka Prefectural Police Community Plaza is a free-admission facility that anyone can enter. It is in a great location, about a 5-minute walk from Osaka-Umeda Station, with convenient access via underground shopping streets. Through hands-on experiences, parents and children can learn about crime prevention and safety. Inside are displays such as police motorcycles and patrol cars, and a crime-prevention model house. You can even sit in vehicles that you normally wouldn’t see up close. The model house explains countermeasures against burglary in an easy-to-understand way. There are also interactive games that teach traffic safety while having fun. When events are held, visitors may interact with Osaka Prefectural Police officers, share safety information, and sometimes enjoy musical performances. Because it’s near the station and has an open plaza-like space, some people also use it as a safe meeting point. It’s a good opportunity for families with small children to think together about safety and prevention.
