Osaka Business Park
Osaka Business Park (OBP) is a redeveloped area in Chuo Ward, Osaka, consisting of a cluster of skyscrapers and urban parks. It is commonly known as OBP and was once referred to as “Benten-jima.” The wider Shiromi area where OBP sits functions as a business district. It is adjacent to Osaka Castle Park and was developed through joint efforts by major companies connected to Osaka. Tenants include firms such as MID Urban Development (formerly associated with Panasonic), Yomiuri TV, Sumitomo Life, KDDI, Tokio Marine & Nichido, Fujitsu, NEC, Keiyo Opticom, Kajima Construction, and others. Access is convenient: about a 1-minute walk from Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line Osaka Business Park Station, and about a 5-minute walk from Kyobashi Station served by JR Osaka Loop Line, the subway, and Keihan Railway. Because it is a business district, there are also many lesser-known set-meal restaurants and cafés, and it has even become a small trend among younger people to hunt for “hidden gem” spots around OBP.
