Mainichi Broadcast System Chayamachi Plaza
Chayamachi Plaza is a public open space on the 1st floor of the Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) headquarters in Chayamachi, Kita Ward, Osaka, opened in April 2014. Designed under the theme “A broadcasting station where people gather,” the plaza includes a stage used for public recordings, live broadcasts, and program-linked events. The arena can accommodate 170 seated guests, or up to 340 standing. At the entrance are models of MBS’s mascot character “Raion-chan” and “PuiPui-san,” the mascot from the program “Chichin Puipui.” The lobby displays oversized program panels and other exhibits, and includes a Tully’s Coffee plus a convenience store that is a collaboration between Daily Yamazaki and Raion-chan. The souvenir shop “Raion Daily Store” offers many original goods and souvenirs unavailable elsewhere. During the summer vacation season, the plaza is also used as a haunted-house venue.
