Rinku Town
Rinku Town is one of Osaka Prefecture’s secondary city centers, located along the coast spanning Izumisano City, Tajiri Town, and Sennan City. It was developed by Osaka Prefecture at a cost of 600 billion yen. The area includes facilities such as SiS Rinku Tower, which houses popular hotels and restaurants; Rinku Premium Outlets, where branded goods can be purchased at reasonable prices; and Aeon Mall Rinku Sennan, which contains more than 160 stores selling food, clothing, daily necessities, and more. It also features sightseeing spots such as Rinku Park and Marble Beach, selected among Japan’s Top 100 Sunsets. In December 2007, “Rinku Pleasure Town SEACLE,” a hands-on job-experience theme park, opened in the area. From 2012, Osaka Prefecture formulated the “Strategic Plan for Community Development to Further Revitalize Rinku Town,” promoting initiatives such as an international medical exchange hub concept and the “Cool Japan Front” concept to attract pop-culture content industries (anime, games, modeling, etc.), with the aim of strengthening the area’s brand appeal.
