Cosmo Square

Cosmo Square refers to the northern area of Osaka’s South Port (Nanko). The Cosmo Square district hosts many companies involved in advanced technology development, and includes major facilities such as the Asia and Pacific Trade Center (ATC), a complex with offices alongside restaurants, entertainment, and an outlet mall, as well as INTEX Osaka, one of Japan’s largest exhibition centers known for its half-mirror semicircular dome. The surrounding area also has many hotels, including the Hyatt Regency Osaka, giving the district strong business-support functions. A particularly iconic landmark is the Osaka Sakishima Government Building (formerly the World Trade Center Building), a 55-story tower with three basement floors that stands about 256 m tall. Its top-floor observatory is a popular sightseeing spot: visitors ride a glass (see-through) elevator from the 1st floor up to the 52nd floor while enjoying views, then take in a 360-degree panorama from about 252 m above ground. The nearest station is “Cosmo Square Station” on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line and the Nanko Port Town Line, and it is about 30 minutes from Osaka Station.
