OSTEC Exhibition Hall
Osaka Science and Technology Center (nicknamed “Tekuteku Techno-kan”) is a museum-style facility that showcases cutting-edge science and technology developed by Japanese companies. About 30 companies present exhibits of real, modern technologies—many closely tied to everyday life. The exhibits are organized around themes such as materials, new life, earth, communication, and energy, and there are plenty of hands-on displays including physical-fitness checks and driving simulations. Quizzes are placed throughout the facility, and worksheets are available on the official website, letting visitors learn in a game-like way while building knowledge of science and technology. In addition to permanent exhibitions, special exhibits and events are held from time to time. There are also goods for the mascot “Techno-kun” that can only be purchased here. The center is located in Osaka’s business district with excellent subway access—especially from Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line Honmachi Station or Higobashi Station, both within about a 5-minute walk.
