Osaka Conference Center & Hotel

The Osaka International House Foundation (Osaka International House / Osaka Kokusai Kōryū Center) is a facility that supports foreign residents living in Osaka and promotes cultural and language exchange with the local community. It provides consultation services for foreigners, multilingual disaster information updates, Japanese-language lessons, and cultural exchange events. The Japanese lessons are especially varied, including classes for children, and because many instructors are volunteers, fees are set very affordably. There is also a free language exchange gathering available on Sundays. The building—on the former site of Osaka University of Foreign Studies—includes a large event hall that can hold over 1,000 people and is used for concerts and more. Part of the building is operated as the Osaka International House Hotel, connected to the center by a passageway. Access is easy: within about 10 minutes on foot from Kintetsu Osaka-Uehommachi Station or Osaka Metro Tanimachi 9-chome Station. Uehommachi and Tanimachi 9-chome are also conveniently reachable from Osaka’s major downtown areas such as Namba and Umeda via Osaka Metro and Kintetsu lines.
