Maishima Sports Island
Maishima Sports Island is a comprehensive leisure complex built on Maishima, an artificial island floating in Osaka Bay, where visitors can enjoy a wide variety of experiences—from sports to outdoor activities. Some of the facilities on Maishima Sports Island are used by professional sports teams. For example, the Maishima Sports Ground is also used as a training site for Cerezo Osaka, and the Maishima Baseball Stadium serves as the home field for the Orix Buffaloes farm (second) team. Thanks to its vast open grounds that catch the sea breeze, you can also spot people enjoying paragliding. In addition, there are facilities offering activities such as Segway rides and go-karts, making it a place where both children and adults can fully enjoy a whole day. The site also includes Hotel Lodge Maishima, where you can stay for a glamping-style experience. Barbecues are available even for non-guests. To access Maishima Sports Island, transfer to the Active Bus from JR Sakurajima Station; the ride takes about 15 minutes.
