Orix Theater
Orix Theater is a concert hall in Nishi Ward, Osaka City, opened in April 2012 after renovating the large hall of the Osaka Welfare Pension Hall, which had originally opened in 1968 as one of Osaka’s representative multipurpose halls. The facility is owned by Orix Real Estate, and Osaka City Dome Co., Ltd. (which also manages Osaka Dome) handles facility management. Design was led by Kume Sekkei and Nagata Acoustics, with construction by Takenaka Corporation. The theater has 2,400 seats and is designed for comfortable viewing. The stage is a proscenium style with an opening width of 21.6 m, depth of 18 m, and height of 12 m; there are nine dressing rooms and an orchestra pit of 151.7㎡. Renovation also expanded and improved the foyer, restrooms, and exterior, making the venue more comfortable. Under supervision by Nagata Acoustics, audiences can experience high-quality sound suitable for a wide range of genres, from pop to classical, opera, and ballet.
