Fuse

Fuse refers to a former area name of Higashiosaka City or the district centered around Kintetsu Fuse Station. While Fuse no longer exists as an official administrative name, many facilities still bear the name. The station area is home to shopping streets, Aeon Mall, and a Kintetsu department store. Originally an agricultural village known as Fuse Village, the area transformed into a commercial and industrial district with the development of transportation. Local shopping streets cooperate through the Fuse Shopping Street Federation and host events such as night markets and dance competitions to attract younger generations.

Access

Kintetsu Nara Line and Osaka Line "Fuse Station"

  • Around Fuse Station, the shopping streets are known for having many reasonably priced restaurants. “Genroku Sushi Honten” is the birthplace of conveyor-belt sushi, opening its first shop in 1958. Conveyor-belt sushi is said to have originated from a “rotating dining table” inspired by the belt conveyor system at a beer factory in Suita City, Osaka. Besides sushi, there are also set-meal restaurants, yakiniku places, and okonomiyaki shops, offering plenty of variety. The Fuse area is also known as a ramen battleground, and “Takaida-style” ramen—originating around Takaida Station north of Fuse—is extremely popular.
