Spa World
Spa World is a hot-spring theme park in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City, operated by Hanshin Jutaku Co., Ltd., and opened in July 1997. Located south of Tsutenkaku—Shinsekai’s landmark—and west of Janjan Yokocho, the facility is divided into two themed floors: the 4th-floor “Europe” zone and the 6th-floor “Asia” zone. The Europe zone features baths inspired by countries across Europe, including an ancient Roman-style bath recreating the Trevi Fountain and a Greek-style bath with a goddess statue in a Parthenon-like setting. The Asia zone includes Japanese-style baths as well as an Islamic-style stone bath and baths inspired by Bali resorts. In addition to representative baths and saunas from various countries, the complex also offers a sports gym and a ganbanyoku (hot-stone spa) area featuring themes from a total of eight countries, including Israel, Egypt, and Russia. Beyond bathing, Spa World has thrill attractions such as the “Panic Tornado,” a 150-meter-long tube slide ridden on an inner tube at high speed, and “Zoku-Zoku Burn,” where riders race down from a height of 10 meters, then shoot up a 70-degree incline at once.
