Hiroshima City Forest Park

Hiroshima City Forest Park is a forest park in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It is a popular park for children, featuring western Japan’s first Insect Museum (paid), the Papillon Dome, and a mountain-castle observation platform that recreates a mountain fortress from the era of Mori Motonari. Next to it is the Prefectural Hiroshima Botanical Garden, making the area even more family-friendly. The park is divided into zones called "forests," such as the Gathering Forest, Children’s Forest, Picnic Forest, Insect Forest, Hiking Forest, Wild Bird Forest, and Forestry Forest, each designed for different kinds of enjoyment. There is also a forest and forestry experience building and a ground golf course, making it popular with families. In the beautiful natural setting, plants let you feel the seasons throughout the year, with water play at "JabuJabu River" in summer and sledding in winter. At the Insect Museum, you can learn not only about live insects but also about insect ecology. The Papillon Dome is a greenhouse where various butterflies fly year-round. To get to Hiroshima City Forest Park, take a bus for about 40 minutes from Hiroshima Station. The parking area is also large, and there is a big parking lot if you go by car.
