Robot Restaurant

Robot Restaurant is an entertainment venue where you can dine while watching a robot show. It has been overwhelmingly popular with inbound visitors and was once ranked 16th in a list such as “Japan’s popular tourist spots chosen by foreigners.” More than 90% of the audience is said to be international tourists, making it a spot that’s often more popular with visitors from overseas than with Japanese guests. The robot show runs about 90 minutes and features performances such as taiko drumming and dance, with updates and renewals happening regularly. In addition to highly realistic robots, the dazzling sound-and-light production makes for a spectacular experience. Meals are served bento-style, with three options: beef short-rib bento, makunouchi bento, or “robot sushi.” Access: about a 5-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station and about a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station (Tokyo Metro lines). It is fully reservation-only, and you must enter by 30 minutes before showtime, so plan accordingly.
