Orizuru Tower
Orizuru Tower is a new multi-purpose facility that was completed in 2016.
The building has 14 floors above ground and 2 basement levels, with an observation deck at the top. On a clear day, it is a spot where you can see two World Heritage sites at once: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Mount Misen on Miyajima. The deck is wooden and shaped like a gently sloping hill, and you can also enjoy light snacks there. To reach the deck, you can use not only the elevator but also the 450-meter spiral slope called the "Promenade" (Sanpomichi). On the way down, the slide "Kurukuru Kūru" can be used for free and is popular with both children and adults. On the 12th floor is the "Orizuru Plaza," where you can fold paper cranes and drop them into the "Wall of Orizuru" as an attraction. There is also a product shop with about 1,000 Hiroshima specialties, a café serving limited menus featuring Hiroshima favorites, and digital content experiences related to paper cranes and Hiroshima. Access to Orizuru Tower is a 1-minute walk after getting off at the Hiroshima Electric Railway streetcar stop "Genbaku Dome-mae" from JR Hiroshima Station.
