Kinko Inari Shrine
Kinkoinari Shrine is a shrine located within the grounds of Hiroshima Toshogu Shrine in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It sits on the hillside of Mount Futaba on the north side of JR Hiroshima Station; to the west are the Hiroshima Prefecture Association of Shinto Shrines, and behind Hiroshima Toshogu is Kinkoinari Shrine. It is a shrine where deities of prosperity in business, household safety, and the fulfillment of various wishes are believed to reside. Kinkoinari Shrine is at the summit of Mount Futaba. While it is possible to go by car, it is recommended to climb the 500 stone steps to the inner shrine, passing through a tunnel of red torii gates (100 gates in total). The view from the summit will feel different. The surrounding grove of acorn trees is said to be the largest in Japan. The red torii gates were donated by companies and individuals praying for prosperity in business. As a shrine of business prosperity, it is also popular as a power spot. If you’re trying to boost your luck, those 500 stone steps might even feel light. Goshuin stamps are also available. To get to Kinkoinari Shrine, it is a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Station. When you go, it is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes such as sneakers.
