MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima
MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima is the home stadium of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball’s Central League. It was formerly known as Hiroshima Municipal Stadium, but in 2009 Mazda acquired the naming rights and it took its current name.
The stadium opens widely toward the north—this design helps secure a sense of openness on the field, good ventilation, and a feeling of connection with the city of Hiroshima. It offers a wide variety of seating, including "sand-covered" field-level seats and terrace seats. Standard seats are also designed generously, at 50 cm wide and 85 cm deep—comparable to Major League ballparks. Even on days when there is no game, stadium tours are offered. They are paid, but guides take you to areas normally off-limits such as the press room, the dugout, and the players’ dining hall, and participants also receive a souvenir. Access to MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima is about a 10-minute walk from JR Hiroshima Station, about a 10-minute walk from the Hiroden "Matoba-chō" stop, or about a 3-minute walk from the "Mazda Stadium-mae" bus stop.
