Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge is a complex transport facility connecting central Tokyo and Odaiba, consisting of the Metropolitan Expressway Route 11 Daiba Line, a port-side road, and the Yurikamome transit system. The bridge is a magnificent suspension bridge, 798m long with towers 126m high, opened in 1993. It is beloved as a Tokyo Bay landmark, and at night it lights up in rainbow colors as its name suggests. Many people assume the illumination is the same every day, but the cable illumination patterns actually differ between weekdays and weekends, and also on holidays—so it’s worth checking. Rainbow Bridge has a pedestrian walkway, allowing you to cross on foot. There are two routes: the North Route offers views of the high-rise skyline on the city side, while the South Route is recommended for Odaiba views and, on clear days, even Mt. Fuji. Access is about a 15-minute walk from Yurikamome Odaiba-kaihinkoen Station or about a 5-minute walk from Shibaura-futo Station.
