Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is a 333-meter broadcasting and observation tower that opened in 1958; its official name is “Nippon Denpato” (Japan Radio Tower). After Tokyo Skytree, it is the second-tallest structure in Japan. The base area, called FootTown, includes ticket counters, an official shop for Tokyo Tower souvenirs, and various restaurants. Observatories include the Main Deck at 150 meters and the Top Deck at 250 meters. The Top Deck was renewed in 2018 as a special space with reserved-entry tours, featuring geometric mirrors, LED lighting, and hospitality touches that enhance the city views. The Main Deck is easier to access; on clear days you can see as far as Mt. Fuji, and night views are also beautiful. A glass-floor section is popular for photos and thrills. Access is easiest via Toei Oedo Line Akabanebashi Station (about 5 minutes on foot), though several other stations are also within walking distance.
