Hiroshima Prefectural Beach
At Kenmin-no-Hama on Kamikamagari Island, southwest of Kure City, you can fully enjoy swimming, sea kayaking, stargazing, and more while surrounded by rich natural scenery. The beach in particular has been selected for honors such as "Japan’s 55 Best Bathing Beaches," "100 Best Shores of Japan," and "100 Best Clean Bathing Beaches of Japan," and it has long been loved by Hiroshima residents as a place to enjoy summer leisure while looking out over the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and feeling the calm waves. After spending a full day enjoying activities like the long Golden Beach and sea kayaking, it is also a great idea to stay at the adjacent accommodations "Kagayaki-no-Yakata" or "Cottage Kamagari." Nearby you will also find "Kamagari Onsen Yasuragi-no-Yakata," the Kure City Kamagari Astronomical Observatory, and the Kure City Kamagari B&G Marine Center, so it is recommended to use the accommodations as a base and enjoy a range of activities. Kenmin-no-Hama is about 80 minutes by car from central Hiroshima City, and it is also easy to reach by bus and on foot. The Kamagari Bridge and the Akinada Bridge leading to Kamikamagari Island offer beautiful scenery and make for an excellent drive, giving you a true sense that your trip is beginning.
