Mt. Haigamine

Haigamine is a 737-meter-high mountain in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The views from the observatory at the summit are exceptionally beautiful, and it is known as one of the "Three Great Night Views of Chugoku and Shikoku." It has also been selected for honors such as the "Japan Night View Heritage" and "100 Best Night Views." In the daytime, you can enjoy sweeping views over Kure City and the Seto Inland Sea beyond, while at night you can take in a stunning night panorama, drawing many visitors from families with children to couples. There is also a story connected to Haigamine’s night view: couples who can find the word "kure" hidden in the city lights are said to become happy, so if you plan to visit as a couple, be sure to look for it. Because the parking lot is small, you may not be able to park if it is crowded, so it is recommended to allow plenty of time. The area is also dark, so bringing a flashlight is recommended. It is famous as a driving spot, but it is also possible to reach it on foot, so those confident in their stamina might choose to hike up.
