Numaji Transportation Museum

Numaji Transportation Museum is a hands-on science museum themed around land, sea, and air transportation. The first floor, which is free to enter, features a library with books and video materials related to transportation. On the second floor, approximately 2,000 models of aircraft, ships, trains, and automobiles from around the world are on display, offering a comprehensive look at the evolution of transportation from its origins to the present day. The third and fourth floors form an open atrium showcasing "Vehicle City," a massive 20-meter-diameter panoramic model depicting a near-future city, which can be experienced from multiple viewpoints. Interactive attractions include a train-driving simulation that runs through Vehicle City and explanatory video content that lets visitors soar freely above the city. Outdoors, the plaza features fun bicycles (additional fee required) as well as an actual atomic-bombed streetcar, conveying the importance of peace. From Hiroshima Station, take the JR Sanyo Main Line to Shin-Hakushima Station or Yokogawa Station, transfer to the JR Kabe Line to Omachi Station, then change to the Astram Line. From Chōrakuji Station on the Astram Line, the museum is about 340 meters away.
