Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Area

Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort is located close to Yuzawa and boasts over 70 years of history. With its expansive grounds, it has long been loved by skiers for offering satisfying slopes and spectacular scenery while you ski. Another major charm is the many dining options within the ski area. From Western food to local specialties, you can enjoy regional ingredients such as Koshihikari rice and mochi pork. Because there are restaurants at the summit, mid-slope, and base area, you can easily grab a meal without having to ski all the way down to the base. In 2018, a new gondola “Sunrise Express” was introduced. With warm, comfortable cabins, you can access scenic viewpoints with ease. Access: about 10 minutes by free shuttle bus from Echigo-Yuzawa Station; about 5 minutes by car from Kan-etsu Expressway “Shiozawa-Ishiuchi I.C.” Parking is free on weekdays.
