GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort

GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort is a ski resort in Yuzawa, Minamiuonuma District, Niigata Prefecture, opened in 1990. Its accessibility is outstanding—“GALA Yuzawa Station,” where Shinkansen trains stop, is directly integrated with the ski center. Beyond easy access, it offers 17 courses across three areas, appealing to everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. Since 2010, a 2.5 km descent course called “Falcon” has also been available. Rentals are extensive, including adult gear as well as children’s wear, boots, skis/snowboards, and sleds—making it possible for families to visit hands-free. There is also a daycare facility, which helps parents feel at ease. After skiing or snowboarding, you can relax at the on-site hot spring facility “GALA no Yu.” You can get there directly from Tokyo by Shinkansen, and because parking is free, going by car is also an option.
