Befco Bakauke Observation Deck

The Befco Bakauke Observatory is located on the 31st floor of Toki Messe at about 125 meters above ground, one of the tallest viewpoints on the Sea of Japan side. Views differ by direction: to the east are the Gozu mountain range and the city; to the west are Sado Island and Niigata’s historic townscape; to the south are the Shinano River and a chain of bridges including Bandai Bridge; to the north are Awashima and the port town—offering a full 360° panorama. Enjoy how Niigata’s land, sea, river, and town come together from a single floor. The same floor also includes an information counter and “Niigata Senbei Kingdom,” where you can gather event/sightseeing/transport info, pick up brochures, and even enjoy making rice crackers. There are also many limited “Bakauke” items and original goods to find as souvenirs. Admission is free, and the Bandaijima parking lot on the ground level offers 1 hour free, making it a nice stop during a break. Access: about 5 minutes by car from Niigata Station and about a 7-minute walk to the Sado Kisen ferry terminal.
