Aomori Bay Bridge
Aomori Bay Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge distinguished by its tower and cables designed in the shape of the letter "A," representing Aomori. The bridge measures 1,290 meters in length and spans over Aomori Station, greatly improving east–west access for vehicles since its completion. Pedestrians can also access the bridge from the piers near A-FACTORY and enjoy scenic views from above (the pedestrian walkway is closed in winter). From the seaward sidewalk, you can look out over landmarks such as ASPAM and the Seikan Ferry Memorial Ship Hakkoda-maru, while the landward sidewalk offers views of A-FACTORY and Aomori Station. The bridge can be crossed on foot or while jogging, but caution is advised due to heavy traffic. Beneath Aomori Bay Bridge is the pedestrian-only promenade called "Aomori Love Bridge," which connects Hakkoda-maru with Aoiumi Park and is popular as a romantic date spot. Walking across Aomori Love Bridge while gazing up at the illuminated Aomori Bay Bridge may make the experience even more memorable.
