YouMe Town Kure
Yume Town Kure is a shopping center located just a five-minute walk from JR Kure Station. By walking along the pedestrian deck from the second floor of the station, visitors can reach the mall without getting wet on rainy days. The second floor also serves as part of a public passage connecting the pedestrian deck to the Yamato Museum, making it enjoyable to browse shops along the way. Near the first-floor entrance facing the Central Pier is the JMSDF Kure Museum (Iron Whale Museum). The first-floor grocery area resembles a typical supermarket, but also features a selection of Hiroshima and Kure souvenirs, making it popular with tourists. Visitors may want to pick up sweets shaped like maple leaves or packaged with origami crane designs from the Hiroshima-based confectionery chain Bäckerei Mozart. On the third floor, there is a food court where local specialties such as Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and Hiroshima ramen can be enjoyed. The same floor also features a free children’s play area and an amusement zone with crane games, making it a great place to stop by if you have extra time.
