Sera Kogen Farm
Sera Kogen Farm is a popular tourist flower farm where a wide variety of seasonal flowers bloom throughout the year. It is located along the Chugoku Yamanami Kaido, which connects Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture with Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture in about two and a half hours. In spring, visitors can admire 850,000 tulips of 650 varieties spread across 65,000 square meters. In summer, vast sunflower fields fill the same area, while in autumn, more than 400 varieties of dahlias bloom across 15,000 square meters. Each tulip field features a different design, and the spectacular "flower pictures" created from mass plantings are a must-see highlight. About five minutes by car from Sera Kogen Farm is the sister facility "Sora no Hanabatake Sera Kogen Hana no Mori," where 7,100 English rose bushes of 135 varieties bloom across 20,000 square meters in spring and autumn. This is the first English rose garden in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. Another sister facility, "Kamu no Sato," located about 20 minutes away by car, opens only from late April to early May as the largest moss phlox and nemophila flower field in western Japan.
