Niigata Nippo Media Ship

Niigata Nippo Media Ship is a high-rise building in the Bandai area of Niigata City, housing offices, cultural facilities, commercial spaces, and an observation deck. Its construction concept is “connecting people, connecting time, connecting the city—‘a modern Kitamaebune’,” and in fact its south side features a gently curving design inspired by the sails of Kitamaebune merchant ships. What you should not miss is the 20th floor: it includes Sora no Hiroba (Sky Plaza), an observation floor, and the “Koiccha Sado” PR corner, making it a spot with scenery and learning. It is open long hours from 8:00 to 23:00, so even late visits are fine. You can enjoy Niigata’s landscape spread out in 360 degrees and the city’s night view. On the Sea of Japan side you can also see Sado Island, and you can learn about Sado tourism information and history as well. Why not check the tourism maps and consider a trip to Sado? Access: about a 10-minute walk from Niigata Station; about 5 minutes by car from Niigata Station; about 15 minutes by car from Niigata Airport; about 25 minutes by bus from Niigata Airport.
