Ibaraki Prefectural Kokumin Syukusha Unosaki

Ibaraki Prefectural National Lodging Unomisaki is a hot-spring inn located at Unomisaki, known as the only place where cormorants used for traditional “”ukai”” (cormorant fishing) such as on the Nagara River are captured. The cormorant capture site is right beside the inn and has a history of about 1,300 years. Unomisaki faces the Pacific Ocean at Ishihama Beach, which serves as a resting place for migratory cormorants. The contrast of white sand and pine forest is beautiful, and you can enjoy the magnificent view from guest rooms and the panoramic bath. Meals naturally focus on seafood from the Pacific; dinner can be chosen from four courses, and you can also order additional dishes such as Hitachi beef teppanyaki. These dishes can also be enjoyed as lunch for day-use visitors. Rooms include Japanese-style, Western-style, and Japanese-Western rooms, ranging from single rooms to special rooms with guest spaces, accommodating a wide range of needs. Access is from the Joban Line “”Juo Station,”” about 10 minutes by taxi. A free reservation-based shuttle bus is also available.
