A-FACTORY

A-FACTORY is a multi-purpose complex in Aomori’s bay area that combines a cider production facility with a shop and dining area. Its distinctive triangular roof, resembling a saw blade, makes it easy to spot. Cider is an alcoholic drink made by fermenting apples, and A-FACTORY also sells non-alcoholic options. At the cider workshop, you can watch the brewing process for cider and apple brandy (Calvados) through glass windows. The shopping and dining area includes four restaurants plus a food marché. At the food marché, you will find a wide selection of Aomori-style souvenirs beyond the ciders made on-site, including canned apple jam and "Dakekimi" (a Hirosaki specialty sweet corn) dressing. Many items come in cute packaging, so you may find it hard to choose. On the second floor, there is a galette specialty restaurant that pairs well with cider. Galettes are buckwheat crêpes, and there is a strong lineup of savory menu options. The second floor also features a cider tasting bar, where you can compare different varieties and discover your favorite.
