Oarai Marine Tower

Oarai Marine Tower is a 60-meter-tall symbol of Oarai. The 3rd floor at 55 meters above ground is the observation deck, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. Because the tower stands close to the sea, the view over the Pacific Ocean is outstanding; on clear days, you may also be able to see Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tsukuba inland. In summer, it stays open until 21:00, making it possible to enjoy sunset and night views. The tower also features the glow-in-the-dark mural “”Dolphin Fantasy””; at night, artwork inspired by Greek myths about dolphins emerges beautifully. The 2nd floor at 50 meters is “”Garupan Café Panzer Vor.”” Despite the café name, it serves substantial meals such as “”Oarai School Cafeteria-style Mackerel (Miso) Set Meal”” and “”Swordfish Cutlet Curry.” On the 1st-floor entrance hall, there is a souvenir corner where you can buy Oarai Marine Tower postcard sets, clear files, and Girls & Panzer goods. Access is about 5 minutes by bus from the Oarai Kashima Line “”Oarai Station.”
