Tove Jansson Akebono Children's Forest Park
Tove Jansson Akebono Children’s Forest Park is an urban park located in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture. Inspired by the world of Tove Jansson, famous for Nordic fairy tales, the park is filled with stylish Scandinavian touches throughout, including a three-story-above-ground, one-story-below-ground Moomin-style house, a Mushroom House, and a Forest House that gathers materials related to Tove Jansson. Blending beautifully with nature, it is a park so enchanting that even adults can find themselves captivated, while children can of course enjoy it as well. From sunset, the park is illuminated, creating an atmosphere that feels as if fairies might appear from anywhere. There are no actual Moomins here, but you can fully experience the atmosphere of Moominvalley. Inside the park is a Nordic-style cafe called Cafe PUISTO, where you can enjoy Nordic dishes in a modern Scandinavian-inspired building. Access to Tove Jansson Akebono Children’s Forest Park is a 20-minute walk from Motokaji Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. The surrounding area has several parks where children can play, making it enjoyable for everyone from seniors to families with children.
