Hagi Komachi
Yukei no Yado Umi no Yurikago Hagi Komachi is a seaside inn with outstanding views of the Sea of Japan, located along Koshigahama Beach within the Kita-Nagato Kaigan Quasi-National Park. There are 48 carefully designed guest rooms in total, and 40 of them have ocean views—so if your budget allows, reserving an ocean-view room is highly recommended. The inn offers a rich range of on-site recreation, including table tennis, billiards, darts, fish feeding, fishing-gear rentals, karaoke, a fitness club, and a DVD theater. Relaxation options are also plentiful: there’s a Hagi ware exhibition gallery you’ll want to browse slowly, bedrock bathing and massage services, and a tea lounge with 15 kinds of tea—perfect for unwinding after sightseeing. The inn’s spectacular open-air baths and natural large rock bath are also among its highlights. Another popular feature is the “creative cuisine,” where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood from the Sea of Japan and seasonal local flavors as special house menus. Access to Yukei no Yado Umi no Yurikago Hagi Komachi: by public transportation, take the JR Bocho “Hagi-go” from JR Sanyo Shinkansen “Shin-Yamaguchi Station” (about 70 minutes) to “Higashi-Hagi Station,” then take a taxi about 5 km (about 8 minutes). A shuttle service is available from the inn. By car, take the Chugoku Expressway to Minehigashi JCT, use the Ogori-Hagi Road, get off at “Edo IC,” then travel via National Route 490, Prefectural Route 32, and National Route 262.
