Metsä Village
Metsä Village is a suburban leisure facility that includes Moominvalley Park, and it is a shopping area themed around Nordic lifestyle. The name “Moominvalley Park” is used more often in signage and promotions, but Metsä Village itself is where Nordic-brand lifestyle goods shops and restaurants line the waterfront setting. Metsä Village offers nature-based experiences as well. In the Market Hall, the first floor features food, while the second floor is filled with Nordic-brand goods. The Nordics Square is a grassy plaza with Nordic art installations throughout. At Sågverk, visitors can enjoy workshops such as a canoe workshop and making wooden cups (items are also sold). At Laituri, you can actually go canoeing. Nordics is a shop and cafe featuring goods and cafe offerings produced by brands such as Iittala and Royal Copenhagen. And at Viking Hall, lunch and cafe time are especially popular, with Nordic cuisine served in a space decorated with Nordic interiors. Access to Metsä Village is a little over 10 minutes by bus from Seibu Ikebukuro Line “Hanno Station” or JR Hachiko Line “Higashi-Hanno Station.”
