Nanbuya Kaisenkaku

Nanbuya Kaiou-kaku is a scenic ryokan located a three-minute walk from Asamushi Onsen Station on the Aoimori Railway, with the sea stretching out right in front of the property. From the top-floor ninth-floor panoramic bath, you can enjoy sweeping views over Mutsu Bay. Asamushi Onsen is said to be beneficial for conditions such as neuralgia, rheumatism, and gynecological issues. Day-use bathing is also available, making it a convenient stop during sightseeing (please bring your own towel). All Japanese-style guest rooms feature ocean views, and each room is equipped with a sunken kotatsu, offering comfort even for guests who find seiza sitting or cross-legged sitting difficult. In the first-floor lobby, a live Tsugaru shamisen show is held every night—be sure to experience the powerful sound in person. The ryokan also has a shop where you can buy the local Asamushi Onsen specialty "Kujira Mochi," a gallery café that displays works by artists from Aomori Prefecture, and facilities where you can enjoy aroma esthetics and foot-pressure treatments. For dinner, in addition to set menus, you can also order items such as Oma tuna and grilled abalone. For breakfast, enjoy a Japanese and Western buffet in an ocean-view dining space.
