Aomori Tourist Information Center, ASPAM

Aomori Prefectural Tourism and Products Center ASPAM is one of the main shopping and sightseeing spots in the Aomori Bay Area, alongside A-FACTORY. Its striking triangular exterior, inspired by the letter "A" for Aomori, is a well-known landmark. The building stands 76 meters tall, and the observation deck on the 13th floor of this 15-story structure offers sweeping 360-degree views of the Aomori Bay Area, downtown Aomori, and the Hakkoda Mountains. On the second floor, the Aoi Mori Hall allows visitors to experience the four seasons of Aomori through an immersive large-screen presentation. The first and second floors are home to numerous shops selling Aomori specialties, including local foods and traditional crafts—perfect for souvenir shopping. Popular items such as apple sweets and scallop curry make excellent gifts. At the JF Aomori Gyoren ASPAM Direct Sales Store, you can even try unique scallop soft-serve ice cream available only here. Craft ASPAM offers traditional Aomori handicrafts such as Tsugaru lacquerware and Sakiori woven textiles, which also work beautifully as interior décor. For those who enjoy alcohol, the standing bar offers tastings of more than 40 varieties of locally produced Aomori sake and spirits.
