Nikko Senhime Monogatari

Nikko Senhime Monogatari is a hot-spring ryokan set in a calm atmosphere surrounded by nature. It is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from major World Heritage sights such as Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Nikkozan Rinnoji Temple, and Futarasan Shrine. Guests are welcomed with matcha and Japanese sweets as a welcome drink. From rooms overlooking Nikko’s natural scenery, you can feel the changing seasons and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing time. Room types include Japanese-style rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, and Japanese-style rooms with open-air baths, so you can choose to match your travel style. There are also “ladies’ rooms” designed for women to relax comfortably, equipped with amenities such as a mist humidifier and a massage chair. The public bath includes an indoor bath and an open-air bath where you can slowly take in Nikko’s nature with all five senses. Soaking in the mildly alkaline simple spring—often called a “beauty bath”—helps soothe both body and mind. Monthly-changing kaiseki menus feature Tochigi Koshihikari rice, Nikko yuba (tofu skin), Tochigi wagyu, and seasonal ingredients, all prepared by hand. From in front of the hotel, half-day tours also operate to Oku-Nikko and lesser-known Nikko spots.
