Yono Park
Yono Park is a 51,000 m² park located in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. It was developed in 1877 by improving the grounds of Tenso Shrine, Mitake Shrine, and Okuni Shrine. The park is especially famous for its rose garden of about 50,000 square meters. At its peak, a stunning display of 170 varieties and 3,000 rose bushes blooms, creating spectacular scenery during the Rose Festival held every May. In spring, Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms also bloom, making this a nature-rich park in every season. The park also includes Tenso Shrine, one of the Yono Seven Lucky Gods sites, where visitors can stop to pray. For families, there are playgrounds, a multipurpose open field, Benten Pond with a fountain, and a Green Adventure area, making it a popular sightseeing spot for everyone from children to seniors. Rather than coming to see a single landmark, this is a park best enjoyed by taking a slow walk while appreciating the beauty of nature. Access to Yono Park is a 15-minute walk from Yono-Honmachi Station on the JR Saikyo Line. There is also a parking lot, but it has fewer than 30 spaces, so it is first come, first served.
