Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center

The Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center is a prefectural botanical garden in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture, boasting a vast site of about 46 hectares. It is also sometimes called the “Kasai Flower Center” or simply “Flower Center.” Access is via JR Kakogawa Line / Kobe Electric Railway Ao Station, then take the Hojo Railway to Hojo-machi Station, followed by about a 15-minute taxi ride. On weekends, direct buses also operate from JR Sanyo Main Line Himeji Station. In the center of the grounds is “Kamenokura Pond,” and surrounding it are various flowerbeds and arboretums where seasonal flowers and trees bloom in profusion—truly a spectacular display. About 4,500 varieties of flowers and greenery provide a relaxing time and space. The center is also home to one of Japan’s leading greenhouse collections, including begonias, gesneriads, and carnivorous plants—highlights not to be missed. Events are plentiful as well, such as the Tulip Festival in April, a summer illumination event in July and August, and the Grand Chrysanthemum Exhibition in October and November. At the on-site restaurant Fleurie, you can also enjoy terrace barbecues.
